Sandhills Symphony Orchestra

The SSO Board is excited to announce that our new Music Director is Greg Stoner.

Greg Stoner teaches orchestra grades 7-12 at Adams Middle School and North Platte High School. He was born and raised in North Platte, Nebraska, graduated from NPHS, and received his Bachelors of Music from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

He first taught in the North Platte Public Schools District at Washington and Eisenhower Elementary Schools, and then started teaching at Adams Middle School and North Platte High School.

In college he performed with the UNK’s Wind Ensemble, New Music Ensemble, Jazz Rock Band, Men’s Chorus, and Pride of the Plains Marching Band. He also later performed at the UNK New Music Festival and with Sandhills Symphony, North Platte Municipal Band, Canteen Jazz Band, and has played in the pit for musicals at the Fox Theatre.
